CULTURAL START-UP OF THE WEEK: Editag

As part of our online cultural entrepreneur series, the Forum d’Avignon presents to you : EDITAG, designs monalitag®, the only all- in-one solution to meet all the needs of a cultural institution since its storage, ensuring the safety of art works in exhibitions, creating interactive visitor path, up to traceability of art works during their transport and their loans.

What is your project/idea/start-up?

French manufacturer of connected objects systems EDITAG, with the monalitag® solution, helps its customers in the cultural sector to make the best use of digital technologies with the vision of "connected art work". Whether it concerns the directors, curators, managers, mediator, security manager ...: cultural institutions are faced with a double challenge: how to attract visitors on one hand and how to reduce costs on the other hand. All this of course while managing increased risks associated with exhibitions, storage and transportation of artworks! With an all-in-one absolutely unique concept, EDITAG responds in an innovative way to this double challenge by offering a complete and simple solution for every use: monalitag®.

What is your current challenge?

In France or abroad, monalitag® is first recognized for the quality of its sensors for art security and conservation. Our challenge today is to show the importance of the word "global" when we talk about Global Art Monitoring because we escort the art work really everywhere. We connect it and make it talk not only with the different internal operators of a cultural institution but also, from now, with the visitor! By being connected, the artwork creates a link within cultural institutions simplifying operations, but the most important:  it creates a connection with visitors.

For you, what does it mean to be a cultural entrepreneur?

Being a cultural entrepreneur is to know how to animate creative talents. Put them to serve economically viable projects with a strong social value creation in a sector traditionally working with a long decision cycle. Meet EDITAG on September 8th in Avignon for the event "AFTERmOOn" an afternoon for experiencing the revolutionary all- in-one solution in Vouland museum. More information: amelie.thibo@editag.eu.
