WHO IS … Joakim Stymne ?

Born in 1959, Joakim Stymne graduated from the Stockholm School of Economics and from Harvard University. He has a background in academia as well as in the private and the public sector. He was adviser on economic reform for Jeffrey D. Sachs and Associates in Poland in 1991. He joined the Prime Minister’s Office as a Special Adviser in 1992. From 1995 to 2003, he was Chief Economist and Head of Strategy and Economics for Alfred Berg and for Kaupthing Bank Sweden from 2004 to 2006. He was also Columnist for the Svenska Dagbladet. From 2006 to 2011, he was State Secretary for International Development Cooperation at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. He is now State Secretary to the Minister for Culture and Sport, Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth.
