WHO IS … Julien Anfruns ?

Julien Anfruns has been the Director General of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) since 2008. He is also the President of the International Committee of the Blue Shield (ICBS) which is concerned with protecting the cultural heritage of the world.

Julien Anfruns was educated at the Institute of Political Sciences (IEP de Paris), Paris, the French National School of Administration (ENA) and EDHEC Business School. Julien Anfruns was the Director of Administration, Financial and Legal Affairs at the Louvre Museum between 2005-2008, where he was involved in the strategic development of the Louvre both in France and abroad. Before that he was at the French Ministry of Culture and Communication in charge of Economic and Financial affairs (2002-2005). Previously he also occupied several diplomatic posts at the United Nations in New York, as well as in Finland and Estonia. Concurrently, from 2002 to 2011, Julien Anfruns taught Cultural Economy at the Institute of Political Sciences of Paris. He is also a board member of the Business Management International Advisory Board of Edhec Business School.
