WHO IS … Claas Willeke ?

Claas Willeke enjoyed his musical training at the University of Fine Arts, Berlin, Germany. Since 2007 he is a professor of jazz theory, composition / improvisation and electronic music at the University of Music Saarland. His researches in teaching and learning improvisation are recognized as visionary and of great value for students and teachers.

Artistically, he is considered one of the heads of DIE REDNER, a German artist group working with important speeches and exclusive interviews from history-changing personalities such as John F. Kennedy, Charles de Gaulle and Stéphane Hessel.

As a freelanced composer he writes music for contemporary, improvised and electronic ensembles on the one hand, and for contemporary dance, theater and film.
