Who is Paul Rondin?

Paul Rondin

Executive Manager, Festival d’Avignon

Born in 1971, Paul Rondin first studied literature before going into the economy and politics of performing arts. At the beginning of the nineties, part of the alternative movement, he created a multidisciplinary festival and several cultural projects. He then worked as an administrator at the Ile-de-France DRAC of the Ministry of Culture and at the AFAA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs). After this experience, he decided to work for the artists Balazs Gera and François Lazaro. At the same time, he took part in several editorial projects and carried out missions for various cultural structures. In 2000, he became administrator of the Centre Dramatique National in Orléans, under the direction of Olivier Py. During that period, he also engaged with the International Parliament of Writers. In 2007, he became general secretary of the Odéon-Théâtre de l’Europe until fall 2012. After a mission of prefiguration for the Festival d’Avignon, he was appointed its executive manager in September 2013. Since 2014, he has also been developing a project of a cultural and digital diffuse metropolis from Avignon and co-founded the French Tech Culture.
