Who is Glenn O'Farrell?

Glenn O'Farrell

A native of St. Malachie, Québec, Glenn O'Farrell studied economics and law. He attended St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, and Université Laval in Québec City. He is a member of the Québec Bar and also holds a certificate from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y. His career in high impact roles in the Canadian media industry spans over 20 years.

He launched and led local and national media businesses in markets across Canada. As a P&L focused executive, he led business development activities across Canada and internationally, negotiated agreements with copyright collectives, major league sports rights stakeholders and labour unions.

Glenn served as chief Canadian broadcast industry leader/spokesperson on behalf of private radio, television and specialty service companies before government,

industry and other stakeholders in Canada, the U.S. and abroad. In a rapidly consolidating media industry, he forged consensus-building solutions and advocated succesful industry-wide regulatory strategies. Glenn served as Vice-President, Réseau Pathonic TVA, Québec City; General Counsel, Chief Regulatory Officer, Senior Vice-President at CanWest Global, Toronto; President of Global Québec, Montréal, and President & CEO of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters, Ottawa.

In 2010, he accepted his current role as CEO of Groupe Média TFO, a public educational media enterprise located in Toronto.
