Next-up on our online cultural entrepreneur series, the Forum d’Avignon would like to introduce: RecycLIVRE a solution to individuals, companies, NGO and cities seeking to give their books.
What is your company’s objective?
For seven years, RECYCLIVRE provides a solution to individuals, companies , NGO, and cities seeking to give their books. We collect, reference and put them on sale on our site and www.recyclivre.com and other markeplaces. Orders are prepared by our logistics partner Log'ins (company who help disabled and people with addiction) and shipped worldwide.
10% of our net income is donated to the association Lire et Faire Lire to support its programs of discovery and promotion of literature.
To date, more than EUR 300,000 were donated by RECYCLIVRE to promote access to culture for all.
What challenges do you face in your development?
The challenge we face today is scaling and geographic expansion.
After 7 years in Paris and Bordeaux, RECYCLIVRE just opened an office in Lyon, and will open soon two other cities : Lille and Nantes.
We are always looking for people and NGO structures to give their books a second life. The more books we collect, the stronger the impact will be on the target populations.
What does it mean to be cultural entrepreneur ?
It is building solutions to make culture accessible to the greatest number.
The prices on our used book store begin within 3 EUR , shipping included .
It is also, fight against inequality ( people excluded from the labor market, illiteracy) by economic activity.
