Culture is future » Innovation and digital

Next-up on our online cultural entrepreneur series, the Forum d’Avignon would like to introduce: Des Mots & Des Arts that organizes guided tours, art history classes and cultural events.

What is your company’s objective?

We created Des Mots et Des Arts for the goal of proposing a cultural mediation service addressed to individuals, companies and public institutions.

We work with a team of art historians specializing from the Middle Ages to contemporary art with whom we cover the core of Parisian cultural news. We propose 3 types of activities:

  • guided tours (exposition tours, themed promenades, gallery trips),
  • art history classes in partnership with Parisian cultural spaces
  • artistic evening parties

The idea is to offer a seamless and directly accessible service: all reservations are taken directly on our website and which allows the client to partake on the same day or the next, in a cultural activity, with priority tickets, accompanied by a passionate guide.

What challenges do you face in your development?

Currently our biggest challenge is to win tenders despite the fact that our agency still young. The stakes behind our development are linked to the volume of activities we propose. Managing a certain volume will be possible in due course notably through the management of cultural sites, like what we our currently doing at the Saint-Jacques Tower.

What does it mean to be a cultural entrepreneur?

A cultural entrepreneur, the meaning presents itself to us as a sort of challenge: we wish to prove that culture can be based on a viable economic model and that it isn’t solely a domain left to associations (whose actions are indispensable but absolutely different from ours). We are intimately convinced that cultural mediation today cannot be overlooked. More and more people frequent museums, are interested in culture but sometimes also find themselves lost in front of the works of art. We are trying to offer a quality service under accessible prices, by working with passionate art historian who wish to share their knowledge.
