THIS WEEK’S CULTURAL START-UP: ARTSTACK

Next-up on our online cultural entrepreneur series, the Forum d’Avignon would like to introduce: ArtStack a startup, which aims at finding the best ways to connect the largest number of people with the most relevant art for them.

What is your company’s objective?

ArtStack's ambition is to find the best ways to connect the largest number of people with the most relevant art for them - to help people discover, share and learn about art online, and ultimately to see more art in real life. We think that art social media is the most effective way to do this, which is why created our platform.

What challenges do you face in your development?

We always want to reach more people, and to ensure that they like their experience on ArtStack and engage with it. Any start-up needs a lot of attention, effort, hard work, focus and finance to stay alive - and to choose its priorities carefully.

What does it mean to be a cultural entrepreneur?

Being a cultural entrepreneur is building a business which contributes to the cultural life of a community. Helping creative producers grow and develop their practice and get paid, and enabling more people to participate in cultural experiences is a critical element of being a cultural entrepreneur - which, of course, does not mean that it is not for profit: good business can help people lead more enriched lives.
