Next-up on our online cultural entrepreneur series, the Forum d’Avignon would like to continue with 1D touch: a multimedia platform for streaming that is fair.
What is your company’s objective?
1D touch is the first multimedia platform for equitable streaming focusing on independent creators from around the world. What we understand by ‘fair streaming’ are new equations that we have put in place to allow a different type of value sharing on the internet.
What challenges do you face in your development?
Our main challenge is time. We need time to build the market that we have identified and will provide content for artisan-creators/producers. Have the time to put in place all the tools so that our community grows larger and consolidates. Such time requires finding the means to realize our amibitions and we our in actively seeking for funding. Being a cooperative society for collective interest doesn’t simplify this task within the traditional sphere of investors but we have a solid fabric and most thankfully we have more and more partners who are attentive to the values we defend.
What does it mean to be a cultural entrepreneur?
It means to be someone who created economic value within the cultural sphere. 1D Lab chose for this to talk about social innovation, to do BIG (‘Business d’Intérêt Général’, Business of General Interest) with a Smart’up (start’up in l’ESS - Social Economy), we are indeed a cooperative company for general interest. We see ourselves today as chief orchestra conductors in data who create value that allows to work for a renewal in cultural diversity. To be a cultural entrepreneur is to know how to talk to artists while also knowing what is ‘executive summary’.
