The fight of the greatest press cartoonist for tolerance and freedom
Radu Mihaileanu and Plantu met the twelve greatest contemporary cartoonists in their respective countries. In front of what they consider as the signs of a democracy that falls into disrepair, in which hatred and fear gain power, they want the values of tolerance and generosity to be restored. They show how these cartoonists, along with their impertinence, their courage (some of them risk their lives) and their humor, make the powerful tremble, and indeed are modern day heroes. The book gathers more than 300 cartoons from Le Monde (Plantu), The New York Times (Danziger), El Universal (Rayma)… and a strong account of each cartoonist.
A funny and corrosive contemporary geopolitics world tour.
The cartoonists : Plantu (France), Willis from Tunis (Tunisia), Zlatkovsky (Russia), Boligán (Mexico), Rayma (Venezuela), Danziger (United-States), Kichka (Israel), Boukhari (Palestine), Zohoré (Ivory Coast), Slim (Algeria), Pi San (China), Glez (Burkina Faso).
