Emmanuel Ethis devotes his research to the sociology of cinema, the reception of film works and the analysis of cinema and festivals’ (Cannes, Avignon, …) audience. As French representative of the International Advisory Board of the Research Project Dynamics of World Cinema, Emmanuel Ethis presides over the High Council on Artistic and Cultural Education (Haut Conseil de l'Éducation Artistique et Culturelle) and the Higher Institute for Performing Techniques (Institut Supérieur des Techniques du Spectacle). His works include: Avignon, le public réinventé (2003), De la Culture à l’Université (2010), La Petite fabrique du spectateur (2011), Sociologie du cinéma et de ses publics (2014, 3e édition).
