Christian de Boissieu
Economist, professor at Paris-I
Professor Christian de Boissieu is currently Chairman of the Conseil d’Analyse Economique (Council of Economic Analysis) attached to the French Prime Minister.
This Council advises the Prime Minister and the Government on economic and social issues.
Christian de Boissieu is also Professor at the University of Paris I (Panthéon – Sorbonne).
He taught at the College of Europe (Bruges).
Consultant to the World Bank, the European Commission and the European Parliament, he is also economic adviser to the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He is honorary President of the French Finance Association.
He is Member of the Scientific Committee of AREVA (France), of the Advisory Board of Ernst & Young (France) and of the International Advisory Board of Finmeccanica (Italy).
In 2007 – 2008, he was appointed member of the Attali Commission.
In 2009, he was appointed member of the “Great Loan” Commission.
He has published many books and articles in the field of monetary, banking and financial analysis and economic policy.
He is a regular columnist for newspapers in France and abroad.
Professor de Boissieu received his Ph.D in economics in 1973 (University of Paris).
He was post-doctoral fellow at Northwestern University and Harvard University, and visiting scholar at the University of Minnesota and at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (Washington D.C).
He is also Commander of the “Légion d’honneur” and has been granted decorations by several foreign countries.
