As part of the 2014 theme “Reform through culture” of the think tank of the Forum d’Avignon, the first debate meeting of the year will take place on Thursday 19th of June 2014 from 8.15am to 10am at Neuflize OBC’s office, around the theme:

Instantaneity, hyper choice, innovation: is culture being consumed differently?
How the digital experience modifies the museums, performing arts, cinema, book and media’s publics’ behaviors?

Enjoying the reading of a book thanks to a web recommendation, being moved by an exhibition after having booked a ticket while having complementary contents, thrilling on his favorite songs available on all devices or suggested by social networks… The digital experiences have pointedly influenced our cultural everyday life. Now used to get free services with their digital purchases, the “consumers-citizens” yearn for improvement and similar services from their cultural experiences…

This meeting will be the occasion to discover exclusively the first results of an international consumer survey led by Kurt Salmon in April/May 2014 among 4,000 people in France, Great-Britain, United-States and urban China. It questions the trends and digital uses in cultural practices.

Among the commented figures:

  • 48% of the respondents encounter difficulties in identifying cultural products that they are likely to like
  • 49% do not attend shows because of excessive crowd
  • 64% are restrained by the books’ excessive price when they are released

The places being limited, the access to this event is on invitation.
