Next-up on our online cultural entrepreneur series, the Forum d’Avignon would like to introduce: monBestSeller.com
What is your company’s objective?
15 % of the French population writes.
We started up monBestSeller.com to allow independent authors to freely publish their book and reveal their hidden talents.
We offer them their first readers’ committee and thus, the audience they deserve.
We give them the opportunity to have their manuscripts commented, to get objective assessment of their readership and to choose to rework their writings if they want to.
We designed monBestSeller.com as a first step to show up.
It is the 1st author–reader community. Democratic. Fair. Free for both author and readers. Here, the reader is in the center of the process.
What challenges do you face in your development?
Website visibility, which equates to author visibility, so that we can spread the word.
And there is the financial challenge of making our freemium model work, offering free access to as many as possible but paid options for those who are interested.
What does it mean to be a cultural entrepreneur?
It means being an entrepreneur whose vocation is to awaken others to a cultural activity, educate them about it, foster the relevant skills, and showcase their talent for this cherished pursuit—in this case, writing and literature.
