THE CULTURAL START-UP OF THE WEEK: ARTIPS

Next-up on our online cultural entrepreneur series, the Forum d’Avignon would like to introduce : Artips, a weekly newsletter presenting interesting ancedotes behind works of art.

What is your company’s objective ?

Artips.fr is your daily dose of art. Three times a week, Artips sends you an unusual and noteworthy anecdote on artworks. Artips is a free email service that you can read in one minute. With more than 120 specialists, Artips helps you (re)discover the rich history of art, in a fun and easy way for all.

What challenges do you face in your development ?

A dynamic startup faces are endless challenges ! For Artips, we had to develop new products that perfectly suited the cultural expectations and needs of our readers while staying truthful to our universe.

We are currently working on creating a smartphone application that will reveal the 10 best secrets of big museums and big expositions, due for launch in Septembre thanks to our successful KickStarter campaign.

We are also working on e-learning courses, to learn everything about art history… while having fun ! Based on the success of Artips, we are thinking of developing vertically-related products, you’ll soon discover Musiktips, and why not Sciencestips, Movietips and Philotips not long from now.

What does it mean to be cultural entrepreneur ?

To be a cultural entrepreneur, is to be an entrepreneur in a passionate domain. It’s about looking to make our daily lives better and delivering knowledge to larger crowds while building one’s own standing. It’s about connecting the public with cultural spaces in an original way that is adapted to our times.
