Always further - books : Orbooks reinvents publishing with an innovative economic model

writingsRefusing the traditional codes of the publishing sector, the publishers of “orbooks” implemented an innovative model emphasizing the place and role of the reader. Favoring the selection of books (new as well as established writers) to mass distribution, they promote design, quality and an original of their books (Internet, videos, articles…). Similarly, print on demand processes as well as the selling of digital books are promoted in order to avoid the accumulation of stocks, returns or useless printings. Yet, this is the relationship between publishers, writers and readers that seems to be the main characteristic of this modern publishing house: refusing the go-betweens (such as Amazon), the editorial process is improved and the links between the different actors of the markets are effectively reinforced.
